Chiayi Lifeline Association
Chiayi Lifeline was founded in 1963 by Dr. Yalan Wok in Sydney, Australia, with the purpose of "suicide prevention" to help people solve various difficulties, through 24-hour telephone counseling, so that people who attempt suicide due to despair regain the courage to live, and then countries around the world have responded to the establishment of Lifeline and organized the International Lifeline Association.
Services :
1.1995 telephone information service
Provide telephone consultation services for people who encounter difficulties in life or have emotional distress. and conduct volunteer recruitment and training courses.
2. High-risk family care counseling
Preventive service programmes are provided for families with children under the age of 18 to avoid cases of child abuse, domestic violence and suicide in high-risk families.
3. Community care services for children and adolescents from vulnerable families
Provide academic counseling services for disadvantaged families, including foreign spouses, urban indigenous people, children of single-parent families, and children from intergenerational parenting families, and link up the school counseling system to promote volunteer recognition and assistance services.
4. Family support services for adolescent mental and depressive problems and suicide prevention
Assist in improving the gap in youth depression and suicide prevention services, and the depression and suicide prevention of school adolescents.
5. Dementia family and caregiver care support services improve the physical and mental imbalance of elderly caregivers with dementia under the pressure of long-term care, and reduce the depression of family caregivers leading to suicide crisis.
6. Compulsory parenting education program in Chiayi City
To enhance the care and parenting functions of parents, guardians or others through compulsory parenting counselling courses and related programmes, thereby reducing the recurrence of child and adolescent abuse.
